Leo enters. Bag lady is still waiting in her chair, eyes closed.
Leo walks over to the other chair, but does not sit.
Bag lady still does not open her eyes. “What do you want?”
Leo smiles. “You can still do that. Impressive.” He sits down on the edge of the chair. “So you’re homeless.” He holds up his Bible. “This book is all about being homeless. So get over it!”
She opens her eyes and meets his, staring for several seconds, then closes her eyes again.
He stands to leave.
“That obviously isn’t THE thing I’m to be told, if there is indeed something that I am to be told.”
He turns. “Are you sure?”
“Yes. Otherwise there would be an I.”
Leo turns and leaves the room.
